the visiBIT technology
visiBIT is a fossil-free alternative to traditional asphalt binders such as bitumen. Unlike anything else in the market, visiBIT taps into a new concept of aggregate binding that doesn’t require high temperatures or oil derivatives. Derived from our proprietary mycelium-based binder, visiBINDER, visiBIT offers a cultivated solution where asphalt is not made but cultivated.
Currently in development, visiBIT is undergoing testing and refinement. Early results show promise for use in low-traffic urban areas such as bike lanes, pedestrian paths, and other light-use surfaces.
